OBOS x MASE Shaping the Future of Compact Living

MASE Home is partnering with OBOS as a technology partner. MASE Home's robotic solutions are being tested at the OBOS Living Lab in Vollebekk, Oslo as part of “Bo Kompakt: live smaller, live more.”.

In a 27 m² apartment, the project explores how less space can deliver high quality of living through smart, flexible rooms. With space‑efficient solutions—like the MASE Bed, a robotic, ceiling‑mounted bed—the same square meters can support multiple activities throughout the day.

What is being investigated in the "Bo Kompakt" project?

Flexible Floor Plans: Creating dynamic living spaces that seamlessly transform to meet different needs throughout the day.

Social & Functional Common Areas: Understanding how shared spaces can enhance well-being and foster a sense of community.

Lowering the Barrier to Homeownership: Exploring innovative solutions to make entering the housing market more accessible.

Defining Quality of Life: Gaining a deeper understanding of what "bokvalitet" (quality of living) truly means to people in practice.

Want to be part of shaping tomorrow's homes?

OBOS is currently recruiting residents for the Living Lab. This is a unique chance to experience firsthand the future of compact living and contribute to vital research that will influence housing solutions for years to come.
