Will it fit?
The MASE Bed is freestanding. It stands against the wall and nothing is fixed to your walls or ceiling, so all your room needs is the floor space, the ceiling height and a normal power socket.

Questions you might have.
Safety
What happens if a child, a pet or an object is under the bed while it moves?
The bed stops by itself. Obstacle detection registers the resistance and halts the movement straight away. The system cannot lift a child or an adult.
What happens during a power cut or a technical fault?
The bed stays where it is. If it is up, it stays up, even if you pull the plug. A manual backup mode means you are never stuck.
Is it certified and tested?
Yes. The MASE Bed is CE marked, and every unit is factory tested for 5,000 cycles before it leaves Italy.
Everyday use
How do I raise and lower the bed?
With the wall switch: one button for up, one for down, and buttons for the light. The bed moves silently and takes only seconds.
Is it made to be used as a regular bed every night?
Yes. It is a full double bed for two adults, every night. The lowered bed takes up to 250 kg.
Can I leave the duvet and pillows on when it goes up?
Yes. The bed goes up made, and comes down in the evening ready exactly as you left it.
Do I need to move the sofa or clear the floor first?
The sofa stays where it is and the bed lowers over it. Just make sure nothing is left on the sofa or on the floor inside the bed's footprint.
What drives the bed up and down?
A lifting system developed and produced by MASE Home AS. The technology is patented.
Mattress
What size is the bed, and is there a bigger one?
The mattress is 160 × 200 cm, which is the largest size we make.
Can I use my own mattress?
The MASE mattress is always included. If you later want to swap it for your own, that is fine as long as it is 160 × 200 cm and weighs 20 to 30 kg. We recommend a thickness of around 20 cm.
Is a mattress topper included?
No. A topper made for the MASE system is available as an optional add-on.
Delivery & installation
How long does delivery take?
Normally 2 to 4 weeks after the order confirmation. Each bed is made in Italy.
Who installs it, and how long does it take?
Our installation partner sets it up for you. It takes approximately 4 hours per installation. Transport and installation are included.
Do I need to drill into walls or ceiling, or make building changes?
No. The bed is fully freestanding and plug-and-play. No wall mounting, no ceiling fixings, no structural work. It works in new and existing homes, and in rented flats.
Do I need an electrician?
No. It runs on a standard plug.
How do I know it will fit my apartment?
You need a footprint of 1.9 × 2.4 m and a ceiling height of at least 2.4 m. Use the fit check above, and send us your floor plan if you are unsure. We always confirm the measurements with you before delivery.
Warranty & service
What warranty do I get?
The MASE Bed comes with a 2-year warranty.
Does it need maintenance?
No, the system is maintenance-free. It counts how many times the bed goes up and down, and we recommend a check after 5,000 cycles. At one or two cycles a day, that is roughly 10 years of normal use.
Who can service or repair it after the warranty?
We recommend that MASE does the service, but an automation company can also do it. The system is modular, so the motor, sensors, control unit and other parts can be replaced one by one. If a part needs replacing, we send it.
How long will it last?
The MASE system is engineered for 20+ years of daily use, with a durable steel structure and repairable components.
Materials & care
Where is it made, and from what?
Designed in Norway and made in Pesaro, Italy. The timber-based boards come from European suppliers and are certified to FSC®, PEFC™, Nordic Swan Ecolabel and Blue Angel. The sofa is handmade in Italy.
How do I clean the sofa fabric?
Category B fabrics have a Quick Clean treatment for easy cleaning. Categories A and C are water-repellent. Ask us for the care guide for your fabric.
Moving & more
Can I take the bed with me when I move?
Yes. Nothing is fixed to the building, so the bed can be taken down and set up again in your next home. Contact us and we will help you plan it.
